Product infomation

Product introduction

White sugar, also known as table sugar, is the end product of the processing and refining of sugar cane or sugar beets. During the refining process, water, minerals, and colored compounds are removed to obtain refined sugar. A by-product containing compounds removed during sugar refining is called molasses, which is also a type of sugar.
To make white sugar, sulfur dioxide is added to cane juice before it evaporates. This gas bleaches the juice so that it does not turn brown and produces white sugar. At later stages, phosphoric acid, calcium hydroxide or carbon dioxide are added to absorb impurities. This juice is then filtered through the carbon layer and then crystallized in a vacuum several times. Finally, the crystals are allowed to dry on their own to obtain papery white sugar crystals.

Characteristics

Refined sugar is usually bright white.
Refined sugar is solid, firm and crystalline.
The composition has only sucrose (C12H22O12).

Use

Sugar is an indispensable spice in daily meals, providing energy and many essential nutrients for the body such as vitamins C, B1, B6 ... However, absorbing too much sugar into the body will cause unexpected health effects.
Refined sugar is actually a preparation of cane sugar, so when it enters the body, it will immediately be absorbed into the bloodstream and release energy. This can be harmful to some internal organs such as the kidneys, eyes and brain, especially for diabetics.
Not only that, refined sugar also appears in many foods that are loved by children such as candy, yogurt, sweetened milk, chocolate...

Harm

Refined sugar is the culprit that causes tooth decay and dental diseases.
Because it contains empty nutrients, refined sugar is not good for children's health. They make the body take in more calories each day than it burns, increasing the risk of obesity in children.
Absorbing a lot of refined sugar will make the baby feel full, so it will easily lead to anorexia and nutritional deficiencies.
In addition, refined sugar also affects children's resistance, which can make them more likely to get sore throats, runny noses, etc.
Refined sugar does not cause diabetes, but too much sugar can increase the risk of diabetes. Besides, refined sugar is also a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases.

Production and consumption

Brazil and India account for more than 75% of the world's sugar production.
